Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Tuesday they were continuing to expand and test new weapons systems to strengthen the country's defence capabilities and respond to what they described as enemy threats.
IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said he could not disclose details of newly developed weapons but said Iran was constantly increasing its military capabilities through the production and testing of advanced arms.
Mohebbi added that if greater attention were focused on the issue in future, Iran would deploy additional weapons systems, signalling that further capabilities could be brought into operational use.
Iran would use new weapons and target locations not previously attacked if the United States launched a new offensive against it, Mohebbi said earlier on Monday, according to the Fars news agency.
